Christmas has come and gone. It was a great one. The kids caught a special sighting of Santa Christmas Eve. He dropped some candycanes off on our doorstep and waved through the window before taking off to get ready for deliveries. I wonder if the girls even slept that night since they were in our room wanting to open presents before 5am. Good grief. We did convince them to wait a little bit so we could get a few more minutes of much needed sleep. Teagan got her Rapunzel Barbie and tower, Kaelsy got her Unicorn Pillow pet, and Kyre got his Gronckle (- the only thing he wanted and should have gotten) - everything they asked for from Santa. Just like the girls asked...How does he know it all? What a great question. All in all it was a great day with our little family and then to top it off with my family. The only thing that would have made it a perfect day would have been to have Brady's family, too. At least they got time with Nana a few weeks ago. It truly was a Merry Christmas.

Snow came early this year. In fact we got a snow day from school two days before Thansgiving break. The kids are outside as much as they can. It sure has helped make it feel like Christmas!
|
The girls wanted a tea party the other day. They got all dressed up and Kyre did not want to be left out. Of course, after all the running around and everything else that goes along with a tea party, they all crashed, Ella and dad included.

So, it has been awhile and lots has happened over the last 6 months. We have had a few birthdays to celebrate. Kyre was in heaven over his tractor cake. Thank goodness he is young and doesn't worry if things are not perfect. Teagan was studying about worms in school and so we (okay, I thought it would definitely be easier on me) did something different for her to take to school to celebrate with her classmates. We made cupcakes with worms on them. It wasn't until after the fact that she turned to me and said "Mommy, how come I didn't get a decorated cake this year?" I better come up with something good next year. We then did the Spring Fest Carnival for their two birthdays...Kaelsy was happy about that, but couldn't understand why she didn't get to open presents like Kyre and Teagan.
And then finally, on June 14 we got to celebrate the newest birthday, Ella Tate. She is a precious addition to our family. She even gets Kyre to be soft (most of the time). Everybody wants their turn to hold her and love her. There sure is something about a baby.

Christmas 2009
It was the first Christmas in our new house and Santa found us. The kids were so worried, so extra cookies were made. For their Christmas Eve gift they got air mattresses and pledged they would stay up to make sure Santa came. Teagan was fast asleep by 10:30, but our little night owl and morning dove held out until 11:53! What a kid.

During the week leading up to Christmas, Brady got the opportunity to go home. Unfortunately it was for his Nana's funeral, which he was asked to speak at, but he was able to also take Teagan. She loved her Nana so much even though she only got to see her a couple of times during her life. Along with paying their respects, they got to spend some wonderful quality time in Eagar with family. Teagan got to be part of the "Grammie Party" and be an angel (which she just ate up). She even got to be reunited with her favorite cousin! And to top it all off... they got a true Eagar Christmas experience! As much as I was glad they were able to go, it sure was nice to have them back home!

Moving day finally came for us in the middle of November. The kids had to give their farewell to grandma's house in a creative way by rolling her stools all over the house. Thanks to the help of some great friends, we got our stuff moved and into the house. It wasn't too long before we were moved in that we got our first snowfall. The kids loved it! I hope the new neighbors (pretty much all retired) enjoy the kids. Hopefully, when we get some paint on the walls and such, I will post more pictures of the house (before and afters).

So, it is a little late, but as the saying goes... better late than never. Here are the Halloween pictures for 2009. Teagan was a cat, Kaelsy was a horse, and Kyre the octopus. It all started with pumpkin carving. Teagan got her Ariel (she had Belle last year), Kaelsy got a sippy cup (don't ask... I did, but after asking her three more times if she was sure... I went with it) and Kyre a basketball (we are not brainwashing him). The girls got to go door to door for the first time this year. We went around my grandmother's neighborhood, a great neighborhood, and the kids made a haul. They received handfuls from each of the houses and sometimes more when they found out whose grandkids they were. Brady even got in on the action. What a guy! Maybe next year, I will join in (or maybe not).
